Mansfield Economic Development

Concept

We received a storyboard from a great creative, whom I’ve known forever. We’ve collaborated on multiple projects over the years and this project was for an economic development campaign for the City of Mansfield, TX. Mansfield is a beautiful, welcoming city south of Dallas that has experienced tremendous growth over the last 20 years.

The concept of the campaign was to use reverse psychology telling people NOT to come to Mansfield, while playing up all it has to offer. It was a spoof and meant to tell the city’s story in a fun, and lighthearted way.

Production

A prolific writer was brought on to work on this project, along with ASA Productions out of Atlanta to write the music. The client approved the concept to riff on the Broadway show, The Music Man.

We scouted the city and came up with a plan. Since we wanted the campaign to have a sketch comedy feel, we enlisted the assistance of Dallas Improve, whom we have used on other projects including a Frito Lay campaign with Garth Brooks. They do great work and this seemed like a perfect fit.

After the production, we had Marc Hoffmeister do the edit. We showed the final edit to the client, and they loved it!

RESULT

After the campaign was complete, it was run by the schoolboard and other council members for final review and approval. Although it is currently “on hold” and may not run, we did get permission to share this case study. Sometimes in the production world, things like this happen.

It was such a fantastic campaign and we all were extremely proud of the work that was done. This may qualify as the “Best Work You Will Never See” type of campaign. We are excited you will get to see it exclusively here! Check out our work.
